Parts List


Lumber

  • 4 - 4 ft. 1x4 pine - legs
  • 4 - 2 ft. 2x2 pine - cross pieces
  • 2 - 25 1/2 in. 1x3 pine - braces
  • 24 - 6 in. 1/2 in. dowels

Hardware

  • 2 - 2 1/2x1/4 in. steel bolts - hinges
  • 6 - 1/4 in. fender washers - hinges
  • 8 - 2 in. flathead wood screws - cross pieces
  • 8 - 1 1/2 in. flat head wood screws - braces
  • 2 - 1/2 in. screw eyes
  • 1 - 30 in. light chain

Other Stuff

The number and spacing of the crossbraces and dowels are up you. The holes for the dowels are drilled perpendicular to one face of the 2x2. The cross pieces are mounted at a 45 deg. angle to the legs and glued and screwed to the inside leg pair. Drilling pilot holes in advance makes assembly much easier.

The chain is attached to the bottom brace of the outside legs near the center and to the next to bottom cross piece using the screw eyes.
