Phantom 4038 Lift OffPhantom 4038 second flight

The flight took place on June 26th, 2004 at Brothers, OR.

Chris Beacher and Mark Gholston volunteered to be the certification team with Chris administering the test. Jane, from Acme Rocketry, supplied the J-235 and also loaned me the 5 grain PRO 38 case. Thanks Jane!

The flight was almost perfect. The parachute got tangled in the shroud lines and the rocket came down hard. Fortunately, there was only a minor ding in the forward end of the body tube and both cert members agreed that the rocket had survived in good enough condition to fly again.

I flew the rocket again on July 31st, 2005, at Brothers, on the same motor, but this time it was a picture perfect flight, no problems at all.
