Built December, 2003
Construction is done, just needs decals and a final clear coat.
The decals in the kit were unusable and I am not sure where to get replacements. Estes dosen't have them anymore.
I added Kaplow clips for motor retention, not having a lot of faith in the plastic retainer in the kit.

06/25/06 Brothers, OR First fllght and it was a CATO! Toasted the body tube, destroyed the forward closue on the 29/40-120 Aerotech case.




Phantom 4038

Following the disasterous first flight, I asked Mike Fisher of Binder Designs to kit the Phantom for a 38mm motor mount. He did a marvelous job and the Phantom was reborn as the Phantom 4038.

10/16/04 Brothers, OR First flight of the clone on a CTI PRO38 J285 for my level 2 certification.
The flight was almost picture perfect. The shock cord tangled in shroud lines of the chute but the rocket was recovered with no damage. Successful Level 2 flight and passing score on the test!! Woohooo!!!
